In a trend of sustainable development, Diamond Developers-one of the leading developers in Dubai has recently publicized that its residential structure based in the Arjaan neighbourhood called ‘Green Diamond’ has saved 128 tons of carbon emissions by use of clean energy solely.

The country is on a green stride with environment conservation and focuses on renewable energy sources. The UAE Energy Strategy 2050, for example, aims to reduce energy use in the country by both individuals and businesses by 40 percent. Regional governments will also continue to refine their energy mixes to reduce domestic oil consumption, and include more renewable and clean energy sources to meet economic and environmental requirements,” Gilsdorf, President of Honeywell, High Growth Regions, Middle East, Russia, and Customs Union predicted.

Green Diamond has the highest rooftop capacity and efficiency for any residential building in the UAE. The building has 480 solar panels, 160kWh capacity, and feeds clean energy for running elevators, air conditioning units, lighting, and an outdoor swimming pool. The yearly solar production achieved is 264000 kWh that saves heftily on the utility bills. The low carbon footprint and residential activities make this development a model project.

The project was completed in 2018, with 194 of two- and three-bedroom contemporary designed units providing premium housing options to the residents in up and coming areas like Arjaan in Dubai.
