IT Giant Wipro Signs Five-Year Contract with Europe’s Third Largest Power Generator

 IT services giant #Wipro has announced a five-year contract with Europe’s third-largest power generator of clean energy- #Fortum

With the new deal, Wipro will aim at assisting at upgrading its application management system alongside management of its services. This comes with a recent acquisition of #Eximius Design and looking for better opportunities.

According to the contract, Wipro will also be handling Fortum’s application portfolio, which includes over 11,500 consumers across 18 countries, along with round-the-clock support for important business applications.

Fortum is the 3rd largest power generator in the Nordic countries, with sales over Euro 5.4 billion last year and an estimated profit of around Euro 1.1 billion. The company provides consumers with smart and sustainable solutions with energy consumption.

Commenting on the deal, CEO Thiery Delaporte said that Wipro will be focusing on growth and new deals with a customer-centric approach, and with the help of Fortum. The company operates 13% of its total revenues from energy and natural resources in the recent years.

In its customer-centric approach, Wipro is also planning to leverage its AI and automation platform- Wipro Holmes to cater user needs and requirements.
