Amazon Launches Amazon Payment Services Across MENA Region

Amazon has made an announcement of launching #Amazon Payment Services in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to foster its position in the online payments space and empower businesses with simple and trusted digital payment experiences. 

Three years ago, Amazon had acquired #PAYFORT International, a part of the #Souq Group acquisition. Now PAYFORT is Amazon Payment Services, says the e-commerce giant. 

The service makes digital payment services more accessible to businesses with ease of accepting online payments using both local and global payment methods. 

In a statement, managing director of Amazon Payment Services, Omar Soudodi, said that the launch makes another key milestone in Amazon’s promise to bolster the future of online payments in the MENA region and empower businesses to enable user-friendly payment experience for end-users. 

The offering will process transactions for businesses across major industries such as insurance, travel and tourism, retail, government, and aviation. The partner banks include the Saudi British Bank (SABB), Rak Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), National Commercial Bank (NCB); also consists of international card services like MasterCard and VISA, and local schemes such as Meeza and MADA. 

The launch has also introduced services like insights and real-time monitoring of payment transactions. Simultaneously, Businesses can create their own dashboards to meet their goals.
