To make payments seamless, Commercial Bank, the most leading digital bank in Qatar has announced the launch of a new digital feature by integrating this innovative payment method in wearables.

Wearables are worn close to skin to detect, analyze, and collect information, further improving the efficiency of the device in real-time. This is a recent addition to the contactless payment solution, which helps people make transactions.

Customers holding an account in the Commercial Bank will make use of this service by registering their Credit or Debit card details into their wearables—smartwatches, trackers, etc.—with an easy-to-use application, and then make payments by a simple tap at all terminals that support contactless payments.

The launch of this feature speaks great volumes on the technological advancement and the steady incorporation of features to match the evolving lifestyles. Commercial Bank becomes one of the first local banks in Qatar to have offered this feature, which will now make it convenient for athletes and sports enthusiasts to make their payments.

Commercial Bank has partnered with Garmin and MasterCard to bring the feature into the market, making it secure and convenient. The excitement was shared equally by Roya Khajeh, AGM Head of Cards and Payments at CB, and Nadia Ghissassi, Director, Country Business Development (Qatar) at Mastercard. In their speech, they mentioned the need for contactless payments as a growing need owing to the pandemic and the ease with which shoppers could make their payments, making it safe, hygienic, and faster.
