Nippon Express Launches China-Europe Cross-Border Freight Service

Nippon Express Co,. Ltd. and Nippon Express Europe GmbH have launched a cross-border rail freight service spanning from Suzhou, China to Europe.

The service was developed in November 2015, when NE China decided to offer a third transfer mode departing from Xi’an station and other Chinese stations. Notably, Nippon Express has fulfilled the requirement of sending small-lot cargo affordably and quickly from Shanghai region, where there is always a demand for cargo bound for Europe.

In order to make space and boost transport frequencies, block space agreements (BSA) will be concluded with railway operators in Suzhou and enable the provision of regularly scheduled transport services.

A consolidated and scheduled transport service will be provided once every week (departure occurring every Sunday), starting from Suzhou, China to Malaszewicze, Poland, and to Duisburg and Hamburg in Germany. This will significantly decrease the lead time required for conventional marine travel from around 40 days to 11-16 days.

Declaration in the Nippon Express Group Corporate Philosophy includes creating new ideas and value in the logistics field and delivering diverse logistics needs.
