The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) has been open to the general public, after the Pharoah’s Golden Parade through the capital Cairo on Saturday.

In the grand procession to NMEC, 4 queens and 18 kings traveled in order, all ornamented in ancient Egyptian style. President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi tweeted expressing pride in welcoming kings and queens from Egypt after their trip.

The mummies were placed in nitrogen-filled special containers and regular display cases.

Additionally, the mummies will undergo a two-week laboratory restoration prior to the museum display. All of them will be accompanied by a brief biography. Humidity and temperature control will be associated as well after placing the mummies in slightly upgraded cases.

Asmaa Said is the curator at the museum. The Mummies hall will host the royal mummies along with their relevant artifacts, an X-ray print, and the coffin.

The NMEC museum had opened its doors to limited exhibits from 2017 and will now be completely open to visitors on Sunday. Notably, Egypt will be inaugurating a new showcase near the Giza pyramids—the Grand Egyptian Museum.
