Australia opened borders to its first group of foreign travellers on 1st November 2021 (Monday) as the nation took steps to slowly lift restrictions after closing its international borders for around 600 days owing to the COVID19 pandemic.

Australia opens its doors for Singapore and New Zealand

Completely vaccinated travellers from New Zealand who tested negative in Covid tests, before departure, can now visit the Land Down Under. Travellers will be allowed to skip quarantine in specific jurisdictions like New South Wales. However, conditions may vary in other territories and states.

The following set of foreign visitors who can visit the country will hail from Singapore.

Travellers from the city-state who are immunized against coronavirus can walk the Victoria and New South Wales ground from November 21st 2021. Quarantine restrictions will be listed in these states. However, a pre-departure Covid test is mandatory for all.

The verdict was made on Sunday when Prime Minister Scott Morrison visited his Singaporean equal, Lee Hsien Loong, at the G20 conference held in Italy.

Despite the revelation of merely trivial details about the press briefing, Singapore’s S Iswaran, Transport Minister, stated on social media that Australia would now allow guests from Singapore to visit from November 21st 2021.

Last week, Singapore expanded its quarantine-free vaccinated travel freeway to include Australian travellers, along with a dozen other countries that included the UK and the USA.

The Australian flagship airline, Qantas, restarted its international flights between Sydney and London and Los Angeles.

From 1st Nov, Australian citizens can leave the nation without the eligibility for exemption.

Australia has witnessed one of the globe’s most deterring coronavirus border regulations where only the country’s citizens and permanent residents were permitted to enter. These citizens were required to go through a compulsory 2-week quarantine.

Several Australians had been left marooned abroad as there were a hand full of flights available and weekly restrictions were in place regarding the number of people acceptable to enter its chief cities.
