Radisson Hotel Group advanced along its expansion trail in 2021. It included 137 new hotels to its portfolio, accomplishing 191 hotels in operation in the territory and familiarised its world-class hospitality standards to some of the most exhilarating emerging markets in the Asia Pacific region.

The Radisson Hotel Group Expansion in APAC

Radisson Hotel Group’s exclusive brand development deals in China play a critical role in furthering its international growth strategy. In collaboration with Jin Jiang International and its subsidiaries, 122 fresh hotels and resorts were authenticated last year, encompassing four brands within the hospitality market.

Radisson Hotel Group also validated 15 hotels as it strived to steer its growth momentum in essential markets in the APAC region like India, Australia, and Papua New Guinea. In addition, Radisson Hotel Group’s top brands extended their footprint with the authentication of Radisson Collection Hotel at Yangtze Shanghai, an anthology of luxury lifestyle hotels.

Furthermore, six upscale Radisson and upper-upscale Radisson Blu properties were signed in China and India, including Radisson Blu Hotel Changyuan, Radisson Hotel at the Beijing Daxing Airport, and Radisson Blu Resort & Spa New Gurugram. In addition, four new Park Inn hotels by Radisson were added in India in the upper-midscale level.

Radisson Individual’s brand lasts to lure independent hotels and small chains in the quest for a global scale while maintaining independence and elasticity. The brand extended into new destinations throughout Australia, India, and Papua New Guinea, with four included in its portfolio. This comprised the Grand Papua Hotel, an affiliate of Radisson Individuals in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

The group rejoiced in opening 41 new hotels and resorts last year. In addition, Radisson Collection was inaugurated in the APAC region with the unlocking of five exquisite properties in China at Shanghai, Nanjing, and Wuxi.

Other crucial beginnings were Radisson Hotel Tianjin Aqua City, Radisson Blu Resort Vishakhapatnam, Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod, Radisson RED Chandigarh Mohali, and The Oasis Mussoorie.

Katerina Giannouka, President, Asia Pacific, Radisson Hotel Group, stated that she was ecstatic by the group’s accomplishments in 2021 as it remained engrossed in its long-term goals despite crucial short-term tests and trials. Radisson Collection and Radisson Individuals presented the group with stimulating new prospects, and the latter’s collaborations in India and China augmented the growth of the group’s portfolio.

Giannouka stated that the group was set to roll out fresh brand concepts in 2022 and was putting itself in a favourable position to adhere to the requirements of owners, guests, and talent alike in the post-pandemic epoch.

Ramzy Fenianos, Chief Development Officer, Asia Pacific, Radisson Hotel Group, stated that last year was a productive period for the group’s development team. Over the past one and a half years, the group expanded its footprint in China and opened its 100th hotel in India, which resonates with its focus on these important markets.

Fenianos noted that the Radisson Hotel Group would strive to pump up its efforts in these crucial nations, alongside focussing on Australia and South East Asia. It would seek prospects including mergers and acquisitions, leasing, and joint ventures in APAC’s important cities like Tokyo, Seoul, and Singapore. Ramzy expressed his enthusiasm in collaborating with the group’s partners in 2022 and onward.

Radisson Hotel Group’s APAC portfolio presently comprises 365 properties, out of which 191 are operational and 174 are under development stages.
