HER Galaxy launches in North American market, aims at women gamers in 2022

Galaxy Racer, an esports organization based in Dubai, has recently entered the North American market with a new brand aimed at women named HER Galaxy.

HER Galaxy, a new brand, is aimed at creating an inclusive ecosystem for female gamers. HER Galaxy intends to offer a platform to provide audience-building resources, to aid teams to grow, and to supply financial assistance to foster growth in the region.

The support provided by HER Galaxy for partnered teams includes provision of adequate funds to cover salaries for five players and a coach, in addition to add-on support for PR and branding, marketing and travel.

Aside from providing a base for female esports talent in North America, HER Galaxy will focus on creating a multi-platform tournament series specifically for women, for three as-yet undisclosed esports titles. The intended series will host community tournaments online, in addition to offline events every quarter across the US for teams that perform well.

HER Galaxy has ambitious plans for North America

Revealing its plans for 2022, the organization stated that it will support four esports teams with a substantial amount in overall funding. Confirming that the teams will entail two PC, one console, and one mobile gaming team, Galaxy Racer has not yet revealed the names of the teams.

In a statement, the company said that a substantial sum of money will be invested in the teams and the tournament, with the objective of providing bigger and more lucrative prize money, as well as high quality tournament management and production. A documentary that covers the journey of the teams is also scheduled to be produced.

The newly appointed CEO of the North American arm of the company, Akemi Sue Fisher, will lead the organizations’ North American office based out of Los Angeles.

The company intends to build a portfolio of female gaming stars as part of its expansion plans into North America. This is in line with its stated larger ambition of building an inclusive, safe and exciting environment for female gamers.

Commenting on her appointment, Fisher commented that she was thrilled to be part of the organization’s expansion into North America, and said that building a foundation for female esports talent was deeply important for her, as well as to the gaming community at large. She also said that HER Galaxy aims to empower women talent within the US, while looking forward to meeting with the hopeful teams soon.

Globally, Galaxy Racer has supported and developed a wide range of women-inclusive initiatives in esports, and the organization aims to take things to the next level. Expanding into one of the major esports markets is viewed as a major move by the company.
