Minor Hotels to launch 4 new properties, 2 brands in Middle East this year

Leading hotel owner, operator and investor in the Middle East, Minor Hotels, is slated to add four new hotel properties in the Middle East this year, including two new brands – NH Collection and NH Hotels.

The Minor Hotels group has already launched two new properties in the region this year, one in the UAE and one in Oman. A spokesperson for Minor Hotels also said that the company plans to expand its footprint into Saudi Arabia.

SVP operations for Minor Hotels – Middle East and Africa, Amir Golbarg, said that the group closed 2021 on a strong footing, and the new year has also started equally strong, since all the countries in which the group is present, resume normal operations.

Golbarg also mentioned that the Minor Hotels continues to expand its footprint in the Middle East, with the launch of two new brands expected in the coming months. Minor Hotels is also scheduled to launch new hotels in Saudi Arabia, for which they have been preparing to expand into.

Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas

The property was launched in the beginning of 2022, and has also been named on Conde Nast Travellers Hot list. Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort is the first luxury resort to be built on Dubai’s World Island archipelago. The new resort, which is located approximately four kilometres off the coast, will offer guests a new luxury destination in Dubai. 

The brand will launch its second property in Doha this year, with the 222-room The Plaza Doha Anantara and Suites. The hotel is in its final stages of completion, and is located approximately fifteen minutes drive away from the Hamad International Airport.

The 174 room Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort will be the company’s first property in the UAE emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, and is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2023. The property boasts a private beach and an eco-reserve, and will also offer guests a range of luxury accommodations, including pool villas.

Scheduled to launch in late 2024, the 233-room Anantara Sharjah Resort will be located on a beachfront in Sharjah, and approximately fifteen minutes drive away from Sharjah Airport.

Avani Hotels & Resorts

The newly built Avani Muscat Hotel, which opened in January, is located in a prime residential area of the Omani capital. The hotel is strategically located just fifteen minutes away from Muscat International Airport, and close to the Mall of Muscat.

New Hotel Brands 

NH Collection

Scheduled to open in October 2022, NH Collection Doha Oasis Hotel and Beach Club will be the first NH Collection property in the Middle East, and the first of the brand worldwide with a beach club. Located along Doha’s East coast, the property is located between the city centre and Hamad International Airport.

The new property is located in the same place where the original Oasis Hotel was formed as Doha’s first ever hotel in the 1950’s. Accommodation options will include a range of over 50 suites, with the largest being the Royal Duplex Suite.

Housed in West Bay, Doha’s prominent business district, The Vyra Suites NH Collection Doha is a 228-room serviced apartment property. The 44-storey property offers amenities such as a restaurant, coffee shop, gym, indoor swimming pool, a kids area and a range of meeting rooms.

NH Hotels

NH Dubai The Palm, which is in its final stages of completion, is scheduled to launch at the end of 2022. The hotel is located on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, and is in easy reach of popular tourist attractions in the city.

NH Dubai The Palm will be the first of the brand to launch in the Middle East, and will be part of an existing portfolio of 240 NH Hotel properties.
