HUAWEI Cloud has received permission from the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) to offer cloud services in Kuwait as the GCC country pursues a cloud-first policy. With the new development, the company will provide innovative cloud services to support Kuwait’s vision for 2035, which seeks to generate a sustainable and diversified economy.

The announcement illustrates a key milestone in the company’s cloud offerings to support Kuwait’s digital transformation journey, and explains Huawei Cloud’s growing profile in Kuwait and the region as part of its presence world-wide. Huawei Cloud has emerged as a key platform for organizations and internet companies to go digital.

Huawei Cloud Summit Middle East and Africa (MENA) 2022 was held in Dubai earlier this year with a theme of Inspire Innovation with Everything as a service. The company intends to collaborate with customers and partners in the digitalization of their industries to build the cloud foundation for an intelligent globe, a planet with cloud and intelligence all over.

Huawei Cloud has drawn 2.6 million developers, 28,000 consulting partners, 9,000 technical partners, and issued 6,100 marketplace products in the five years since its launch. In the Middle East alone, the platform offers more than 220 cloud services, has more than 200 local partners, 210 cloud solutions, 19 data centres, and a growing list of over 80 market offerings.

The Chairman and CEO of CITRA, Salim Muthib Al-Ozainah, stated that digitization is integral to the realization of the company’s national goals as part of Vision 2035 to support and develop a sustainable and diversified economy. The launch of the firm’s cloud services would facilitate Kuwait’s private and public organizations to go digital while inviting new foreign investments into the county. The company would continue to support the entry of technology businesses into Kuwait that can augment the economy with innovative solutions and ideas.

The Chief Executive Officer of Huawei Kuwait, Rico Lin stated that the digital services demand in the company’s Kuwait ventures would continue to increase. Huawei cloud services in Kuwait would ensure these enterprises have access to the leading cloud services across the globe. This would aid enterprises to drive their business and services further and continue innovating as per their clients’ requirements and ambitions. To a greater extent, their fast-expanding cloud marketplace ensures that the company can strengthen their partners’ future development in the digital era.

Huawei Cloud expertise as a service for shared excellence

Huawei Cloud is creating the Cloud Foundation for an Intelligent World with ‘Everything as a Service.’ Everything as a Service offerings are transforming the company’s ICT expertise of thirty plus years into a broad variety of cloud services which includes Infrastructure as a Service, Technology as a Service, and Expertise as a Service. These facilities aim to make the computing power essential for AI as effortlessly accessible as water and electricity. Huawei is also working to make AI more affordable and accessible to help cultivate a new, thriving AI ecosystem.

Huawei has recently announced plans to host two cloud regions in the Middle East – a boost for local governments and businesses and the ability to access more robust and secure cloud services from Huawei.
