Apple Music teams up with the National Football League (NFL) to be the title sponsor of the Super Bowl halftime show, taking over from PepsiCo Inc., which had retained its name on the star-studded intermission program since 2013. The multi-year partnership integrates the Super Bowl Halftime Show, the most-watched musical performance of the year, with Apple Music, which acclaims musicians, producers, songwriters, and enthusiasts. It offers the world’s most excellent music listening experience with a catalogue of more than 90 million songs, and immersive sound powered by Spatial Audio.

Super Bowl LVII, which will be played on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona, which would celebrate Apple Music’s first year as part of the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Over the coming months, enthusiasts can be expecting exclusive specifics and sneak peeks taking the lead up to the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show by following @AppleMusic on Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.

The exorbitant sponsorship’s announcement also concurs with Apple’s bid for the rights to stream the NFL’s Sunday Night games. Apple is appraised as the pacesetter for the most sought-after package of games, for which the league is looking for $2.5 billion, a rise of $1 billion more than its current deal with DirecTV.

Apple has generally sidestepped from sponsorships, which are predominantly a marketing maneuver. Earlier, Apple Music sponsored the German football club FC Bayern Munich for at least two years. Although the company does have a sustained record with the Super Bowl, it’s been operating ads during the event since 1984, when it first launched the Apple Macintosh personal computer, revolutionising the personal technology.

Music and sports carry a unique position in everyone’s minds, so Apple Music will be part of music and football’s biggest stage, said Apple’s Oliver Schusser, vice president of Apple Music and Beats. The team is looking ahead to much more epic performances following year and beyond with the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show, Schusser added.

PepsiCo stated in May it was concluding its 10-year sponsorship race. The Super Bowl, the National Football League’s annual season-ending championship, is among the most-viewed sporting events in the globe. Over 120 million spectators watched the halftime show in 2022, with aggregate US viewers rising 6% from the preceding year. The Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show featured a line-up of avant-garde musicians, with Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige commemorated the first time these five multi-award-winning artists performed in concert on stage. The show also awarded three Creative Emmy awards.
