SSAB (Stockholm, Sweden) announces its novel creations, Hardox HiAce and Hardox 500 Tuf, to deal with Indonesia’s challenges associated with infrastructure and mining.

SSAB’s Country Manager for Southeast Asia, Juan Kuan, stated that mining sites face regular challenges associated with areas of utmost significance, like operational efficiency and equipment durability. An interruption in even one of these two facets will entail major fiscal imbalances. According to an article authored by the Oxford Business Group, big-time mining firms can lose monetary bundles of as much as USD 5 million per day owing to the disruption of a single excavator.

Apart from financial effects, mining sites also witness great demand from domestic and export markets, such as Indonesia. Indonesia is an industry-heavy nation that is expecting a surge in production demand as global economies recover from the effects of the COVID19 pandemic. Kuan said that the SSAB has developed the Hardox HiAce and Hardox 500 Tuf in light of these circumstances.

The Hardox range’s latest update is SSAB’s Hardox 500 Tuf wear plate. The product boasts excellent toughness, strength, and hardness in a solitary wear plate.

Despite being a new-fangled innovation, the Hardox 500 Tuf has justified its worth across the globe in containers, mining tippers and trays, agricultural equipment, tipper bodies, buckets of various types, and liners and wear parts. The Hardox 500 Tuf derives the most valuable characteristics from the Hardox 450 and Hardox 500. The resulting product is a new-fangled wear plate with almost no valid competition in the market.

The Hardox HiAce delivers a noteworthy up-gradation as it entails similar exceptional characteristics of the Hardox 450, however, it is fabricated to be more abrasive resilient, and durable in acidic atmospheres. The Hardox HiAce executes in the same way as the 400 HBW steel in normal work atmospheres. Its exclusive steel configuration allows it to safeguard up to thrice the pH level atmospheres that endorse corrosion or pitting of metal in a particular area. The Hardox HiAce is apt for vehicles and equipment utilized in industrial and municipal waste management facilities, mining and quarrying sites, biomass facilities, and waste-to-energy plants.

Apart from facilitating an enhanced performance, the Hardox HiAce and Hardox 500 Tuf also help in SSAB’s goals towards operating a sustainable business.

Juan stated that the capacity to have lighter vehicles with a similar or larger load capacity than before will mean improved fuel consumption and production efficiency as one will have fewer trips. Not only does this improvisation save costs associated with the firm’s operations, but also has a lesser negative effect on the environment, which is the firm’s ultimate aim.
