Thunes commitment to sustainability and responsibility are the core principles of its operations

Thunes announced its new association with two global Environmental, Social, and corporate Governance (ESG) initiatives; the United Nations Global Compact and Ecovadis. Thunes won the Ecovadis silver medal for 2022 as the Singapore-based based global payments company passed the sustainability assessments and submitted the reports to both institutions.

The company was also placed among the top 25% of performers for business sustainability and thereby became the first ever fintech company to make sustainability reporting a part of its daily strategies and operations. The firm’s commitment to sustainability and responsibility are the core principles of its operations and the certification from the United Nations Global Compact and Ecovadis reconfirms the firm’s pledge. This also helps the company to provide sustainable outcomes in the long run and inspire further technological, environmental, and social change within the fintech industry.

United Nations Global Compact

The United Nations Global Compact seeks to assemble a global movement of sustainable companies and stakeholders. This is the world’s largest sustainability initiative that aims to align the tactical actions of business with the United Nation sustainable development goals on labor, anti-corruption, environment, and human rights.

The United Nations Global Compact supports businesses to take calculated actions to achieve larger community goals by highlighting the importance of teamwork and innovation. By joining the UN Global Compact Thunes commits to acting in support of sustainable development goals and realizing the UN Global Compacts’ ten principles across the business. Over 15000 companies have now joined the United Nations Global Compact as a combined force for good and better sustainable changes.

Ecovadis initiative

The Ecovadis initiative is regarded as the world’s most trusted sustainability rating and ranks on its environmental and social impact on 160 countries across 198 categories. Receiving recognition from the Ecovadis initiative is an important milestone for the company and it sets an example of how fintech hubs can enrich their sustainable development and practices. The firm’s application for the Ecovadis Sustainability Assessment was focused on setting a yardstick for the actions and operations of the company and working towards continuous improvement internally.

The United Nations Global Compact and Ecovadis promote Thunes’ ongoing ESG program ‘Turning Transactions into Actions’, a program that underlines the actions and long-term roles that the business enterprises must participate in social, environmental, and corporate governance.

CEO of Thunes, Peter De Caluwe states that a successful business must be responsible and the organization is proud to join the United Nations Global Compact and Ecovadis initiative. By joining the ESG programs the firms become pioneers among the fintech companies that focus on Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance. Peter De Caluwe also adds that the firm has begun to incorporate Environmental, Social, and corporate Governance (ESG) initiatives into the firm’s methodologies and focus on long-term values rather than having short-term benefits within the company.
