The airline has announced the new dates for this launch. The airline will fly twice a week between the Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Avram Iancu International Airport, Cluj (CLI) from the first week of November 2021.

Flydubai facilitates a daily flight between the Dubai International Airport and the Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport. From November 2021, the number of flights will increase to double daily. With the commencement of flights to Cluj-Napoca, the airline will deliver an overall of 16 flights every week to Romania.

The Avram Iancu International Airport is situated 10 kilometers east of the city center of Cluj-Napoca. The airport is located near to some of the most essential tourist attractions of the city, which is also dubbed as ‘The Heart of Transylvania.’

Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at Flydubai, Jeyhun Efendi, stated that Flydubai’s new flights will serve over 3.5 million people who live close to the airport with the convenience of direct air travel to Dubai. Passengers will also have the opportunity to connect to popular destinations like Zanzibar and Malé. The weekly two-time service will also allow the Romanian emigrants in the UAE to visit home more efficiently. People that want to visit the much-anticipated Expo 2020 Dubai will also be provided with a more convenient option through the Flydubai Romanian flights.

The city of Cluj-Napoca is situated in a strategic position bordering Hungary, Ukraine, and Moldova. Thus, its strategic position will allow passengers from these cities to benefit from Flydubai’s aviation hub.

The passengers who fly a Flydubai flight to Dubai will also receive a 1-Day Ticket to visit the Expo 2020 Dubai which will happen from October 2021 to March 2022. This benefit is valid for airline bookings made from 1st September 2021 for people traveling during the event dates.
