Apple announced its first remodeled iPad in five years, as a part of its new look tablet line-up. The company also introduces the next-generation Apple TV 4K. The entry-level iPad gets a new design and charging port, while the TV device has more storage and a lower price.  The redesigned iPad comes to the market in four vibrant colors. Apple’s iPad, launched on Tuesday introduces a large 10.9-inch liquid retina display, with an A14 bionic chip that delivers much faster performance.

The new product range echoes Apple’s aim of making the devices produced to support a wide range of activities including the production of high-resolution videos, a better video calling experience, and an updated camera to capture sharp and vivid pictures. The new changes introduced in the gadgets help the firm to be in line with iPhones, the company’s profit maker. The new iPad will be available in markets from October 26.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing stated that the redesigned iPad will be added to the Californian company’s most advanced iPad lineup. “With a large 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, powerful A14 Bionic chip, a first-ever landscape front camera, fast wireless connectivity, USB-C, and support for incredible accessories like the new Magic Keyboard Folio, the new iPad delivers more value, more versatility — and is simply more fun”, says Greg Joswiak.

The upgradation in the iPad range and Apple TV range is the first in the lineup in a year, after a minor update in September 2021. The entry-level iPad comes with new features, refreshed look, and a price increase of $120. Apple is also retaining the last year’s model at $ 329 to give customers a low-budget option.  The device will have flat edges matching the iPad mini and iPad Pro along with gaining a USB-C connector that replaces the Lightning port.

The iPad’s 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display extends to the edges giving the users more screen area for apps and games. The product also comes with advanced cameras and audio which support detailed 4K video with dual microphones working in unison with the cameras to capture audio from the camera.

The iPad Pro was first introduced in the year 2015, to make a product replacement for a laptop. The new version looks similar to the company’s 2018, 2020, and 2021 versions, and a significant change in the new model comes in its addition of the M2 chip. The chip brings in advanced performance and capabilities to iPad pro with leading power efficiency, custom technologies, and unified memory architecture. The new chip performs 15 percent faster than the M1 version, according to apple with significant advancements in performance and efficiency.

The new iPad Pro gets faster Wi-Fi connectivity along with an Apple Pencil feature that lets the stylus work while moving above, without touching the screen. There’s also support for ProRes video recording, which is a more advanced format.

The Apple TV, the company’s central element to its living room strategy brings out its strongest Apple TV features while making it more affordable, and entertaining and offers remarkable cinematic quality. The TV showcases much faster performance and fluid gameplay with its A15 Bionic chip. The TV is introduced with two configurations: Apple TV 4K (Wi-Fi), and Apple TV 4K (Wi-Fi + Ethernet), offering support for Gigabit Ethernet for faster networking and streaming experience.

The Wi-Fi-only version has 64 gigabytes of storage compared to the ethernet version which has 128 gigabytes. The Apple Tv 4K will be available to its customers from November 4 in more than 30 countries and regions. Both TV formats will have the A15 chip, an upgrade from the A12 chip of the previous model. Apple also informs that the new TV consist of 100 percent recycled gold in the plating of multiple printed circuit boards for the first time along with recycled tin in the solder.

The firm is carbon neutral for its global corporate operations and by the year 2030, the company aims to be 100 percent carbon neutral across its production cycles and manufacturing supply chains. The company informs that by 2030, every apple device sold, considering its entire production process will have net- zero climate impact.
