Emirates Health Services (EHS) and Burjeel Hospital Abu Dhabi & Affiliates (BHAD & A) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing collaboration in academics, skill development, and research.

As one of the leading healthcare institutions in the UAE, Burjeel Hospitals and its affiliates are committed to providing the highest standards and best practices in the industry. The MoU seeks to enhance the level of research and medical care outcomes with partnerships that encourage training, education, and health learning resources.

Director General of EHS, Dr Yousif Mohammed Al-Serkal stated that the partnership was a testimonial to EHS commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services. He added that EHS would work closely with BHAD & A in skill development and training in an effort to improve the quality of healthcare services in the region. He noted that the partnership will expand academic and research cooperation between the partners.

CEO at Burjeel Hospital Abu Dhabi, Prof. Dr Abdel Rahman Ahmed Omer said that the collaboration was aligned with the organization’s efforts to provide top-notch healthcare services, including academics. He mentioned that BHAD & A will work closely with EHS to develop opportunities in research, training, education, and skill development, aimed at boosting the competitiveness of the UAE’s health sector at a regional and global level.

According to the agreement, EHS and BHAD & A will jointly work to leverage their expertise and resources to develop the skills of health staff spanning the nursing, medical, technical, dental, and administrative departments.

The partnership will also mandate forming a joint committee for collaboration and cooperation, which will be led by a representative of the Training and Development Centre at EHS. The committee will ensure smooth workflows and work to overcome any challenges that could obstruct the implementation of the agreement.

BHAD & A aims to collaborate with EHS for academic and research activities, which will include the exchange of training staff, internships, sharing of research materials and participation in scientific and research events.
