The pipeline would bring about 2,000 cubic meters for every hour of jet fuel to the airport

Emirates National Oil Company Limited (ENOC) Group, a leading integrated global oil and gas participant operating across the energy sector value chain has announced the completion of the construction of its 16.2km jet fuel pipeline connecting its Horizon Emirates Jebel Ali Petroleum (HEJP) storage terminal in Jebel Ali to Al Maktoum International Airport. The announcement was done during the Water, Energy, Technology & Environment Exhibition (WETEX) & Dubai Solar Show, which commenced on the 27th of September and would be continuing up until the 29th of September.

The pipeline, which was securely and effectively commissioned in July 2022 will bring about 2,000 cubic meters for every hour of jet fuel to Al Maktoum International Airport and will be introduced to the need for jet fuel at Dubai Airports up until 2050.

Furthermore, to provide for the expansion of aviation services at Al Maktoum International Airport, the pipeline would reduce the dependence on road transport for jet fuel supply to the airport by enhancing the supply of jet fuel, which would contribute to the national economy.

The pipeline is equipped with advanced safety elements involving a Leak Detection System (LDS), extensive automation control and quality control, and regular patrolling of the pipeline route to ensure the well-being of the pipeline.

His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO at ENOC said that the completion of the construction of their new pipeline is set to meet the need for jet fuel at Dubai Airports up until 2050, which is aligned with Dubai’s vision to build a sustainable future for the Emirate. The advanced pipeline would be a fundamental part of supporting infrastructure and strengthening the supply of jet fuel to Al Maktoum International Airport to meet the needs of airlines connecting the Emirate to the globe.

ENOC is a strong contributor to the development of the aviation sector

Al Maktoum International Airport was launched in 2010 for cargo operations followed by commencing passenger flights in 2013. Once completed, this airport will be the world’s largest global gateway with a capacity of over 160 million passengers each year. In line with this anticipated growth in traveler numbers, the requirement for jet fuel is projected to increase significantly in the years ahead of time.

ENOC is a strong contributor to the development of the aviation sector in Dubai and at present brings jet fuel to Dubai International Airport through two jet fuel pipelines. Throughout the years, the Group has invested in the newest technologies and incessantly executes the best approaches to achieve exceptional accomplishments.

During WETEX, ENOC Group is exhibiting innumerable products comprising VitalyX, a laboratory powered by Shell Remote Sense, and Bently Nevada in partnership with Baker Hughes that is now available to the Group’s marine lubricant customers, in addition to ENOC Link, which was launched under NEXT, ENOC’s accelerator program.
